So my Apple Stores finally got iPhone 12 Pros in silver specifically, they’ve only seem to be getting only one per shipment and it’s constantly low on supply and getting sold out.

I managed to get some of those silver iPhones but both are defected. One is perfect but the back glass has white specs on the side. The other unit has rough edges on the stainless steel, and ALSO debris trapped under the frosted glass like my graphite iPhone 12 Pro that I had. The next unit had a dent on the top rim! WTF.

I remember the pre order batches coming out flawless, but now that demand is high and Apple seems to have difficulties making silver, did QC go to ****?

Would you please share some images of these faults so others can compare?

Yeah both mine and my wife’s preordered 12 PM are good. Mine has a tiny mark near the charge port that I’m not sure was there from the factory.

I don’t have the unit that came with a dent on top, I immediately exchanged it.

but here is graphite and two silver models

Sorry my crappy 6S camera won’t focus on the rough edges

Just wait 24 hours when you get your first scratch on the metal band and you’ll be over it.

I think you need to raise your standards.

1. this costed me $2200 CAD
2. My previous iPhones did not have defects
I understand that. But nothing is perfect. If you were looking for a new car, which will cost a whole lot more than what you paid for your phone, I guarantee, if you look for it, you will find imperfections, especially in the paint on every car.

I agree, nothing is perfect.

Lies. My previous iPhone came perfect. So did any of the devices I kept. People tell themselves that to feel better or they just don’t care at all.

Not sure why I would be okay with a new product that is lower quality than my previous iPhone.

I'm not saying you have to accept it. But I bet I could find imperfections with your previous phone. Whether it be the OLED screen, the speakers, buttons, etc. Once pointed out to you, it might bother you.

But yes, it's your money, and you have every right to do what you feel you need to do to remedy your situation. Whether Apple will eventually not exchange any more of your phones, is another discussion for somewhere else.

No. I do very thorough inspections. If there were defects it would be something I cannot access. And if you’re referring to that then you’re really stretching it there. Lol

I think you are absolutly Right. This is bad quality control. I think it really is strange to say this is normal and everyone should except it. maybe you were unlucky though. I haven‘t seen many complaints. But I wouldnt except it either.
I only own the 12 Mini in black baut it was perfect. Nothing like your device.
Strange that you have so much problems. Really unlucky.

My Graphite had a few imperfections along the stainless band. Generally, I wouldn’t care that much since it’s in a case, but this years Apple cases show the visible area of the steel and it drives me nuts. It’s either the PVD coating has a small chip or not polished right. I am returning and buying a new one Sunday. I hate playing the return game as the next device could be worse but this I am not willing to accept.

So what do you want someone on here to do about it? Send it back if your not happy.

I am. BTW I wasn’t expecting anything from here to do anything about my problem. My post is asking a question about high demand = lower quality product, if Apple is sacrificing quality to be able to keep up with demand; and I’m also sharing my complaint.

First 1-2 batches of iPhones always have the most issues, its the perk of being an early adapter

See what happened with mine. Really disapointed. Every. Single. iPhone i’ve had since the 4S had some sort of defect straight out of the box. I know it’s a cellphone but at that price, i’m expecting better QC.

Anything first or second batch from a production line might have more issues especially with the amount of manual labour put into the assembly process.
We don’t know however which batch Apple ships to customers nor which batch this one is out of.
