high end 15'' vs. 17'' + glossy vs. matte

I'm not sure which to get! this will work as pretty much my main PC!

I've looked at the 17'' benchmarks and they seem slightly higher than the 15''. The 15'' seems slightly more portable whilst the 17'' is obviously a bit more expensive. I really can't decide. I'd like to take it on the train (2x a month) etc. and maybe to university maybe once or twice a month but other than that, i'd be keeping it at home on a desk.

I'm obviously looking for a good few years out of the machine too if that factors into anything. Thank you!

Unless you know that you'll need the extra screen space, go for the 15" MacBook Pro. It's a lot more portable in my opinion and you won't notice a difference in the speed in real world performance. You can always plug the 15" MacBook Pro into an external display, but you can never shave off that extra pound with the 17" MacBook Pro.

Well I hate glossy so I am always bias and say "matte".

For size the 15 hi-res is perfect but the 17 only if you don't plan on hooking it up to a monitor ever.
