There's a new Casio fixed lens SLR style camera that will do high speed camera style videos. You know, the type from Mythbusters!

It's supposed to do pretty well with single frame stuff too!

It should be at or near $1,000 by now

Yes. One that does both high quality stills and slow mo video. I was looking at a Casio Exilim. That sort of thing but as cheap as possible.

Look for a refurbished, used or new from eBay. Amazon also has really good prices.
