Tech talk . Anyone wanna talk on a *higher level* talk about printers.
Looking at SMB mid marker color printers.
Laser - whether it be MFP or just standalone.
I can't quote all the makes but even the highest end $2K mid market Xerox tends to crease/wrinkle/BE sensitive to various #10 Envelope Stock in the manual tray.
This IMO is not acceptable.
Most other inkjets if regular B&W Laser HP's do not exhibit this issue
ColorQubes - The tech is interesting. It prints slightly softer but colorwise better IMO than the Lasers in this class. Warm up time is a b1tch, and so are power/shut off. Even the slightest brownout will make it PURGE ink, which is not economical at all when it does this.
I can choose a standalone color or a MFP.
The HP 400 looks great in person, not sure how it handles all media.
I'm not looking for color proof quality. We have a Canon Imagepress C1+ for this.
This is for a dept that does very minimal printing, but color is needed, and good media handeling with something as simple as a #10 envelope with no creasing or minimal creasing is acceptable.
