Okay here's the deal... I have found out that the only currently available upgrade for my MAC PRO 5,1 is 10.13 High Sierra. I am running OS 10.9.5 and have for along while.... WHY? I am glad you asked...

Back a long time ago knowing that the last ADOBE suite software one could OWN and not "RENT" was ADOBE SUITE CS6. Well I bought the big one ! ALL OF THEIR apps including After Effects CS6 version now 10.0.4..

I have read that most of these apps will still work on 10.11.6 With some tweaks. BUT now we are talking OS 10.13...

I Would hate to upgrade my OS to 10.13 just to find out most if not all of my ADOBE apps will not work any longer.

PLEASE ADVISE!

I am not a giant user of CS6, but do have it installed on both my 4/5,1 and my 2013 MBP. Works as expected. As part of 10.13, Apple will post a warning that an app is 32-bit, so you should contact the publisher. But the functionality still seems to be there.

Since you want to continue running older software, I suggest getting a pretty good backup system in place - such as CCC. That way, if you upgrade the OS and it's not to your liking, you can easily roll back.

You can still download and install Sierra: https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht208202

1. Install 10.13 on an external drive, test your apps, go forward or backward as you then see fit.

Or

2. Backup your drive, update to 10.13, test your apps, continue with 10.13 or go back via your backup as you then see fit.

CS6 apps are 64 bit. The problem is that Adobe no longer supports them, and hasn't for quite some time now.

Perhaps I have a different CS6 than you. But a quick check on About This Mac-System Report-Software-Applications shows that InDesign, Audition, Distiller, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and many "support" apps (like Extension Manager) are all marked as 64-bit (Intel):No. Indeed, when I start up InDesign I get the "not optimized for your Mac warning. I understand that what many consider CS6 - Photoshop, Premiere and Illustrator - are 64-bit, much of it is not - at least on my system.

I have CS5 Dreamweaver (and I'm not either interested in the subscribing thing) and it works fine on High Sierra.
You should have no problem.

But check it up and keep your old system either on your computer or on external and the new HS the same way, so you have both systems available if something isn't what you want it to.
But if CS5 (that is 32-bit) works, I can't see any reason for CS6 to not work.

PhotoShop CS6 is Yes as is Acrobat Pro 11! I assumed all the other major applications would be in the same boat.

BTW, Extension Manager CC is still 32 bit.

That's my experience with 10.13.6. I get "Not Optimized" warning messages on the 32-bit apps in CS6, but they work just fine. This is what Apple said it would do in 10.13 - starting warning people about these older apps.

It is interesting to note that Apple doesn't warn on *all* 32-bit apps. The latest Compressor is 32-bit, and there's no warning.

Ok, I get the point.
You mentioned 32-bit apps 3 times and quoted my post that had a typo re 34-bit
Now corrected.
