High Sierra and ICloud

hi all,

Maybe I am missing something here but I can’t see the files I have stored in iCloud Drive on my MacBook Air like I can on iPad and iPhone.
I have everything signed in to the same Apple ID but all of the folders I have created do not show up in the finder.
I can access and edit the files on iPad and iPhone but not on the air, I would like some help on this if possible please.

When you enable iCloud Drive on Mac, Finder moves the iCloud Drive, Documents and Desktop folders from the Favorites list to a new iCloud list. If these are not appearing in your Finder Sidebar, go into Finder > Preferences > Sidebar and check the iCloud Drive, Desktop, Documents and they should start appearing.

Those folders are on the Mac but all my folders in iCloud are not in the finder.
I have custom folders for other things like home movies and things like that.
