Hello, I have recently updated my late-2011 macbook Pro to High Sierra 10.13.6 and since then, the iphoto app turned to "Photos" in m dock, but there's still the iphoto app in my launchpad. I cannot use either of them, iphoto app is constantly updating thumbnails and Photos app is loading up to 23%. Any recommendations on what could I do in order to open these/ this app? Thank you

High Sierra - photos - iphoto problem

If it were me I'd open the Photos app and let it run all night -- maybe the conversion process is just really slow? Especially if your macbook pro has a hard disk drive instead of an SSD.
