Having fried my 2011 MBP owing to intense use, neglecting to regulate room temp and updating the software, I am now overly cautious with my new but second hand MBP (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) that I am running High Sierra on.

I'm about to look at installing a full creative suite on the machine but wondered if I should update to OS 10:14 - Mojave for this?

I would hate to overdo it again and I want to make sure that I can use the machine for as long as possible.

Thanks

I think the issue is not the Os. OS alone, especially the older one (incl Mojave) would not make overheat.
Creative suite usually take lot of cpu power which produce heat. Try to run it in cold temp room. In my case, I run in room with AC. The laptop was located on the floor (ceramic floor). Sometimes I added extra fan beside that when the temp still too high.

Thanks for your response mate. Sounds promising. You would suggest upgrading to the OS?
