Im trying to update my Mac Mini to the lastest update but have been unable to complete it. I have a very slow internet connection, and I seem to lose that connection before the update is completely downloaded, and I have to start all over. Is there some way I can save the partially downloded file so I can just start from that point? Thanks for any help.

I also have a slow connection. I try downloading at off-peak times when I have trouble. Eventually it finishes.

That’s what I try to do as well, but my problem lately has been losing my internet connection during the download and having to start from scratch. I was hoping to find a way to save the partially downloaded file and have it continue when my connection comes back. It is frustrating taking several hours, getting half way through and having to restart from the beginning

If you can find a direct link that you can download through Safari, then Safari can restart a partial download from wherever it got interrupted. I saw your post last night, but as of yet I have not found a link that does not involve either iTunes or the Mac App Store. If Apple would post a combo update (as in the past) that might work for you.

I have only tried through the App Store. Maybe I will see if I have any better luck with iTunes. I haven’t seen any way to update other than these. I seem to be able to get about halfway through and it just quits. I’m not sure if I lose myinternet connection or what causes it. I never used to have problems updating, but had a terrible time with High Sierra. I wound up having to drag my computer to work and downloading it there.

As far as I know, iTunes cannot download macOS nor any macOS app. And it never has.

The current version of iTunes (12.7) no longer manages/downloads iOS apps although it continues to download iOS updates.
