I was checking the internet usage from my Ubiquiti statistics, and my AW2 traffic caught my eye.. I wonder what was it doing. Old Apple Watch 2, was on some version older than current WatchOS until yesterday. Several TB downloaded in a few days? I have a 1000/100Mbit/s internet connection. It is slow to update automatically as I wear the AW2 at nights and AW5 during days with auto-switch on so it is rarely on charger while connected to my phone. I had to stop auto-switch to upgrade. The traffic seems to happen when it is charging. Can’t be backup with that much data.

I hope this stopped now with the newer WatchOS. I wonder if this was a known issue with some older WatchOS version. Or is it just the Ubiquiti statistics that are bonkers, I would not be surprised.. ;)

I would think think it's an incorrect log

for 7.74 TB, using your full 1000 Mb/s connection, would take about 17 hours.
and that's if you're getting 100% of the speed, which really doesn't happen.

And the 1.25 TB up, would take about 27 hours at 100 Mb/s

every other device on your network would have horrible internet if the watch was using all your bandwidth like that.

if the watch has been on a version of OS 6, then it's possible it was trying to upgrade itself, and just getting horribly confused. but unless you've seen issues with your other devices, I'd blame ubiquity.

is there a bandwidth log in your router somewhere?

--- edit
in doing some more thinking, if that's In your wireless device, than that could be local bandwidth
but the watch is only 802.11bgn and 2.4gHz, so best case it tops off at around 150Mb/s

at that speed, the 7.74TB would take over 5 days to download.

Thanks, I should have done the math myself. I just wonder why it is this particular device on my network. However I would not be surpised if Ubiquiti reporting is the real culprit. It says my internet connection is down almost always, even when everything works fine :)

I use a unifi wi-fi hotspot, It seems to me that they might not be the "solid professional" gear that I thought

I have issues from time to time.
and have mine set to reboot every other day.
