How important is dot pitch?
i'm a freelance designer buying a MacPro, use 2 monitors (19 & 17), want to buy a new 19" LCD (4:3) with an IPS panel. After exhaustive research and massive phone time, I found a 19" NEC with an IPS panel for $350. I was just about to pull the trigger when I saw the dot pitch was .29-- (I would have expected .25-.27) I'm not sure how big of a deal this is. I don't want to enter the Dell lottery or buy an ACD.
Then I saw that LaCie has discontinued their 319 higher-end (supposedly) model, and they are now available some places for around $750/under (originally $999). LaCie doesn't seem to be that well-reviewed in many cases, so I'm leery.
I'd appreciate any input about how important dot pitch is and how happy people are with Lacie.
