I have a friend who has just started University ( my brothers Girlfriend). If she was to come to a Apple store with me, could se get me discount on the new MBP, even if its all in my name and I'm paying> If so :

What percentage in store would I get
What Percentage online would I get
Do I really get free Applecare
Would I still get the Free iPod Nano


This has go to beat my 11% instore Further Education Discount has'nt it?

The best way is to do it online, at her university. So long as you are on her uni network, it will work, and you cold use your credit card and details and it won't care.

What percentage in store would I get:- 5-15%, probably 10% on MBP.
What Percentage online would I get:- More!! It's better online.
Do I really get free Applecare:- Don't know?
Would I still get the Free iPod Nano:- Do it online and yes, ish. £95 off actually.

My friend works at the store and he says above and beyond the best way is online, on your university network.

Just got off the Phone with my nearest apple Retail store, they said aslong as my friend brings her Uni card with her I can get :

15% off the new MBP, and huge chunk off the price of Applecare

oh, and a free iPod nano

You can get the same discount in store as you can online, whether its normal edu or HE edu discount. They have 4 levels of edu discount in store apparently, HE being the biggest... and its the same as the HE online, i.e. the one you access through your uni network

I've bought a 500GB Time Capsule with full HE discount in store, if that's any help. I just showed them my NUS card...

Well I'm going instore even though its a 2 hour drive, for the experience aswell as to look at the other products.

I might be very cheeky and ask if I can get discount/free Laptop case
