Is that setting effecting the processor as well? or anything else?


it'd be great if when put on the "better battery life" it would down clock a bit to squeeze more battery life.
 
If you're plugged in, you shouldn't worry about that but IIRC, somewhere in this forum, someone posted that when you're off the MagSafe, the CPU is actually down-clocked and isn't running at full speed.
 
No. It is just the dumb person's explanation of NVIDIA 9400M, and NVIDIA 9600GT. Better Battery life is the 9400, and vice versa.

eh, i guess i was confused cus on my old macbook pro classic, the settings actually made the machine run faster and that only had the 8600 gt

I thought that Apple laptops down-clock when the battery is removed and they are running off MagSafe, not the other way around?
