I just learned about this earlier this month. See https://weblog.rogueamoeba.com/2024/08/08/how-to-highlight-text-fragments-when-linking/

Here is an example of what it can do: https://weblog.rogueamoeba.com/2024... text on any page, then select the bookmark.

So from that link you can drag the bookmarklet link in the October 9 update box into your favorite bar. Then on any page, highlight some text, click the link in the favorite bar, and it will automatically copy text to your clipboard that you can paste with the proper link address to show formatted text.

This does work in Safari.

So will I have to add this Javascript for each and every website on which I want to share highlighted text? Also once I have highlighted text on a webpage what if I wanna later remove it highlight another text?

No - drag that link to your favorite bar (or put it in your favorites.) Now whenever you want to send a link of highlighted text from a web page, select the text that you want to highlight and click that favorite that you dragged. There is no notification or anything, but once you click the link your clipboard will have a new link that will highlight the text for you, like in my second link, which you can then paste into an email, message, etc.

Also once I have highlighted text on a webpage what if I wanna later remove it highlight another text?
Just highlight different text and click the favorite again (mine says "Link to Selection" on my favorites bar, by the way) and it will create a new link with the newly highlighted text (and unhighlight the text you originally selected), or you can even go back to the original web page and highlight different text.
