I recently purchased a HighPoint RocketStor 5122B Dual USB 3.0 drive dock. Seemed like a good choice?

When I try to copy a set of files from either the internal drive or second slot the copy will hang half way though. The same problem will also happen if i duplicate a file on the drive in Rocketstor the process will freeze half way though.
I have tried using USB 3 and USB 2 and on a second computer (MACBOOK PRO OSX 10.8.5) differnt hard drives, in every case i can reproduce the problem. I also tried a clean install of the OS but the problem still occurred.
Is the dock just incompatible with OS X, faulty or can i change something to get it working properly? Any insights would be very much appreciated.
