hinge click

everytime or just about every time i open my mbp lid it makes a dull click type noise and sometimes when i adjust the angle of the lid it does it again if its been sitting there for awhile. when i close the mbp the hinge makes a dull click again most of the time. I'm still within the return period and am wondering if this is a cause for concern.

It shouldn't make that noise, did it fall down?

Just bring it to the store, if you can, and let them have a look at it. Maybe make an appointment to not have to wait that long.

no its like a week old and never been dropped its just odd and i might just be picky but it definitely makes a faint dull click

also when i push on the black part of the hinge on the back it makes a creaking noise on the left side of the hinge

My MB/Ps don't make such noises though, but the OP could be exaggerating.

I assure you neither mine nor anyone else's I know, personally, have creaking or cracking issues. It's abnormal.

Its hardly an 'issue'. I was curious about it when it first came about, so I looked it up and I found that a fair amount of others have it too... So I ignored it.

If mine was making noises it wasn't designed to make, then I would be concerned. Just because it's not a problem at the moment doesn't mean it won't cause issues down the road.

Just exchange it. I love how people just accept these things as normal... There is such thing as a widespread defect - that's what recalls are for.

A creak now could turn to a grind and a crack later.

If you bought a new car would you be concerned if you heard a creak come from the frame every time you hit a bump?

theres nothing we can do here on MR, take it to the dam store
