Hit 500 posts no avatar?

I have just hit the 500 post and have status macrumors 6502a
But it still won't let me select an avatar?

It often takes a few hours for the new abilities to be propagated across the servers. Try it again in a few hours.

It takes a few hours after you hit 500 posts for it to enable.

From the FAQ.

Once you reach 500 posts you may not immediately be able to upload an avatar. The privilege is added automatically when the forum system does routine processing, so check again in a few hours. The delay is normal so please do not contact us to report it as a problem on the same day that you reach 500 posts.
