Hitachi Feature tool on MBP

Has anyone managed to get the Hitachi Feature Tool to work?

I want to change my Travelstar 7K1000 to SATA II as I think it is what's causing me issues on my 2012 MBP in the Optical bay.

I downloaded the bootable disk but can't interact with the tool (even using a PC keyboard connected by USB).

Alternateively is there another tool that will do the job??
