HL2 goes into loading, then goes back to steam, new SR mbp, any help?

Hey, I have the new SR MBP with boot camp 1.3 installed. I installed steam and downloaded hl2, and when I start it up it shows the valve logo like normal then has the blurred out loading screen, and then just goes back to steam without any error messages or anything. Anyone have an idea. Using XP Pro btw.
