my sony sz has a place for a sim card, its locked onto cingular/att. could i theoretically put the sim card from my iphone into my computer and have 3g access on my laptop? or would that not work? or would they find out and would i get in trouble?

I know you can swap a sim from the iPhone/iPhone 3G to a regular cell phone. I would assume it would work in a laptop connect card, but remember that unlimited data isn't really unlimited with AT&T.

yea i know. that sucks

soft limit of 5 gigs. at that point they may monitor your usage more carefully and/or deny you service, or charge by the kb for anything over 5 gigs

its in the iphone contract which i dont have a link for at the moment

this was a great concern with that netshare app when it was availiable. that thread is an interesting read if you get the chance
