I know if you long press the keyboard you can move the cursor around but how do you select text?

Man I miss 3D Touch. Only thing I don’t like about the iPhone 11. :(

You have to use a second finger. Long press to bring up the cursor, then use a second finger to long press and move your first finger to highlight.

I’m trying my best to get used to this but it makes me really miss Touch ID too. 😂

EDIT: I just discovered that you don’t need to long press with the second finger. Just tap and that puts it in “highlight mode”.

And people say 3D Touch was not discoverable. This is way worse. And it doesn’t work well.

By the way everyone who bagged on 3D Touch for not being discoverable... well neither is long press. And I’ll bet most iPhone users have no clue you long press the space bar to move the cursor around.

100% agree. I just so happened to see someone do it in a review and realized that’s how it’s done now. There’s no way someone would just be able to intuitively figure that out.

I wish that long press would pull up a contextual menu that allowed us to choose the next action (highlight, move the cursor, copy/paste, etc).
