Hollywood DVD's

Just something that I have been wondering for quite some time...

How come movies (DVD's) that I buy are like 8GB on 1 disc? My DVD-R's are about 5GB's.

Are Hollywood DVD's DL? Or is it some other kind of technology?

Yes, most Hollywood releases are dual layer DVDs.
