I’ve had my M4 iPad Pro since launch, and every iPad Pro before it since the first one came out. Been using iPad daily since the iPad 4. And I had no idea what stage manager was until today lol.

only use my iPad for SVOD and occasional work stuff, reading pdfs and email.

But now that I discovered true multitasking, I am stunned and what I can do with the iPad.

This might sound as a really stupid post, I’m just amazed at how I didn’t even know this feature existed this whole time

Yes its quite good, i usually have 3 windows open. 1 safari, 1 whatsapp/imessage and then another window streaming content. Connected to my 24” Asus Pro art monitor makes it even better. Stage manager can be a bit annoying sometimes though, but iPad OS 26 takes things to another level so its just going to get better.

Prepare to have your mind blown again with iPadOS 26, stage manager is still around but now there is a fully standalone windowing system with tiling, better window management controls and actual (visible) background tasks.

I'm just waiting for the public beta before I take the leap. Love the new pointer.

Always good to have restraint when installing dev beta’s on primary devices. I didn’t have that restraint.
B1 was not good for me, couldn’t open several websites, had to go back to 18.5 B2 was better, still a few hiccups, daily restarting. Have to say B3 feels much better so far. YMMV.
But the new stage manager / Multi Windows is awesome. Absolutely perfect for multi tasking. And yet, with the click of a button in the control centre you’re back in full focus with one app at a time.

You’re really making me want to take the plunge and get a developer account. I find stage manager a subpar solution, but the multi windows feature looks perfect.

It’s not perfect yet, it is now workable for me, but it’s not my only device and if it goes south, I always have several escapes.
but I do like it, certainly when connected to an external 34”5k screen and when using the short keys to arrange the windows quickly and easy. Makes productivity much better.
