home botton dosnt work ! do i need to go in a store?

Hello,

my iphone 4 home button works only if i keep hit it few times... there is some thing wrong with the phone;a home button for sure .. i don't want to go to apple store (there is one 15 miles from my house ) if i call apple would they make me take the phone to store or do i have the option of doing replacement/repair on phone thru fedex.. can some one please share their experience. thanks

You will need it later when filing the applecare claim.
Then you send it in and they send you a replacement.
When I did it last month I just brought my faulty iphone to a UPS store along with the printed out applecare documents.
They took care of the packaging, shipping and fees to ship it to apple and 3-4 days later I had the replacement arrive at home.

Is your phone jailbroken? Many of us are having inconsistent home button issues where you need to hit the button multiple times to get it to activate. Sometimes it will do a double-home function when only hitting once.

hi no that phone is not jailbroken ..and i restored it to 4.1 ios .. still the same thing ! .. is there a easy fix to this ?

Sounds like a trip to the Apple Store is in order then. Bummer!

its just that apple store is in a mall which is out of my way and going their ill have to waste a lot of time...and i was hoping to get it repair/replace in mail
