Home button delay

So I've been comparing phones and what strikes me is the delay of pressing the home button, and actually going home. It is not fluent. I believe this is because the software is waiting for a possible double or triple tap, but this takes away the speed switching between apps and opening new ones.
Is there a way to make it faster, so that a click instantly brings you to the home screen?

I don't think there is. The only options you have is to make it slower. Having triple click assigned to an accessibility task also makes it slower of course, like you mentioned.
