Home button issues caused by Mail?

Lately I've been having issues with my home button. It doesn't always register clicks or sometimes registers the wrong number of clicks. The odd thing that I've noticed is that Force quitting Mail from the switcher solves this problem. I don't think that it's dust or a home button failing. Is this logical or am I making it up in my head?

Hi,

I have homebutton problems, too. First I thought it was a software problem, but now I think it is an hardware problem.

Because when I slightly bend it the homebutton functionality comes back.

Same here..been having the issue for about 2 months now. Used to work fine
