I have a 1st gen iPod Touch unjailbroken on 3.0 firmware.
I dont know when this problem happened but recently I have not been able to quit apps using the home button, I can have it held in for 1/2 a minute and when I let go the app is still there.
Has anyone else got this problem? I need to be able to close down the apps as my battery goes down fast if something greedy is still working when the touch goes to sleep.

Hold the sleep button until the power off slider appears. Then press and hold the home button. Apple changed this in 3.0 since on the 3GS holding the home button activates voice control. Oh and I'll give you a break this time but next time search. MRgoogle is you best friend. some people on here you will eat you alive for not searching.

I will try that thanks!:D

BTW.....I tried to search, I searched; 3.0 known bugs/broken home button/home button not quitting apps/how to quit apps in 3.0 and numerous other searches when I was getting desparate, sometimes no matter how you search unless you use the right terminology you are up **** creek without a paddle:eek:

Thanks for the help, I will see if it does the job
