On my powermac i have lost the desktop link in my home directory. It is on my powerbook and i have provided a picture so that you know what i am talking about. I think i must have deleted it by accident but if there is way of getting it back it would be very much appreciated!

Sorry picture won't appear because host won't allow external linking.

I worked it out.
I found in the terminal that Desktop still existed but i could not actually see it. So i decided that maybe i should delete it. first moved all my files off the desktop into a safe folder. I then went back into terminal and typed sudo rm -rf Desktop. It then deleted the desktop. I restarted my computer and finder saw that my computer did not have a desktop so it made another one and everything was back to normal.

Yeah, this probably could have also been fixed by a Permission repair as it looks like the Desktop folder was accidentally flagged as hidden. Dunno though.
