I returned to my machine to find everything set back to defaults. I figured my home directory must have been tampered with. Turns out the drive where my home directory is located got renamed from "gyak" to "gyak 1". What would have caused this?

I'm guessing it has something to do with that.

Usually, you get a 1 after a drive name if something with that name already exists.

I still can't tell you what exactly caused the renaming glitch (it could have been countless things), but it would be very difficult to figure that out without sitting down at your Mac.

My external is named "delorian" and the drive that got changed was an internal drive named "gyak". That's what has me a bit confused.
