I have a 46" Samsung HDTV (LN-T4661F), and I'd like to watch both downloaded video and streaming (e.g. Hulu) video on the TV.
I could buy and hack an Apple TV to play all the downloaded stuff, but that wouldn't help with streaming. So I'm thinking of buying a Mac Mini for this purpose.
1. How good would HD video quality be with a direct connection from Mac Mini to TV? (audio's no sweat; I can just feed my stereo via the audio out jack.)
2. How awful would standard-def video look with that set-up? I think my Samsung is capable of some sort of upconversion/upscaling....
3. What would be the optimal way to send downloaded video files to the Mini from my Macbook Pro? (EDIT: when I say "send", I mean via WIFI, as the two computers will be in different rooms)
