home folder name

how can i alter the name of the home folder in the sidebar of a window?
its strange that it will not change although i have altered the accounts name!

Back when I knew absolutely nothing about Macs I tried to change the name. Don't remember what I did back then, but it wouldn't let me log off.

suppose i make another user account and then i delete that user, do i get rid of the name i dont want?
