First of all, I want to apologize if this has already been discussed, but I've not found any threads related. Also for my non-native English.

I have been paying attention for a while to the battery usage and checking out which apps are using each % of the battery and such. It turns out that since iOS 16.2, "Home & Lock screen" is taking a big % of the battery and I've no idea why. To put you in context:

- I use no widgets on the lock screen, although I have a weather widget on the Home screen. (Precise location turned off)
- My device is an iPhone 14 Pro and I believe the battery life is totally fine besides this.
- Reboot, restore and wiping have been done with the same results.
- I don't receive a crazy amount of notifications at all. Just a few WhatsApp messages, bank notifications and not too many more.
- Dark wallpaper and AOD off.

"Home & Lock Screen" may be using around 8-15% everyday, while it used to be just 1-2% in this iPhone and in my XS, I just never payed too much attention to this because it was always very little usage.

I wanted to ask, is someone else having this issue? I've seen videos from Aaron Zollotech and he shows the exact same thing, but it makes kind of sense since he has tesla widget and others that are constantly connecting to the internet.

Thank you guys.

I tried a couple of basic Lock Screen apps and noticed the Home and Lock Screen usage was higher when I checked on battery consumption. Of course I have no scientific conclusions that one caused the other but I did turn off the Lock Screen widgets partly because of the perceived battery usage but mostly because I like the looks without them.

On my 14PM I see about 9-11% per day but I use widgets on home screen and have AOD turned ON. What is your Auto-Lock timer set for? I wonder if your screen stays on longer before it times out?

Thanks guys for your answers.

Auto-Lock is set for 30 seconds then it turns off.

Lets say for around 50% average of daily usage of the battery, Home & Lock Screen takes from 12 to 15% been active for around 25-30 minutes. Although it might seem normal, what is odd for me is that 3 hours of spotify in background takes less than 15%.

It would make sense if idle time was actually part of this "home & lock screen" usage.

This screenshots attached are today's usage.

Here are my tips that have been useful to me before:
1. Try Reset Network Settings (for some reason this has fixed issues in the past that had nothing to do with the network lol - this will not cause any data loss and will only forget your Wi-Fi networks so you’ll need to re-add them)
2. If one doesn’t work, try Reset All Settings (this will not cause any data loss, but will reset Face ID and all the phone’s settings to default).
