Hi guys, I’ve been using the device for nearly 3 days and I noticed that the battery is not as solid as it was on 14PM.

The first line in the battery stats is the “home screen & lock” label.

After this: photo.

I just have the calendar widget and the AOD is off.

Is it the first days indexing that cause that? Or maybe i have to try something else?

I did a fresh install.

I have the same issue on my 14PM, which is happening since the iOS17 Release Candidate. The Home and Lockscreen stating "Wallpaper" ist using 35% battery with 30mins screen on time. That is just crazy! I also did a fresh install, nothing helped!

I don’t have this problem on my 15PM but I read multiple reports of it. Definitely baffling and must be software. Do you guys have all a stock wallpaper? Or widgets?

Yes, stock everything - background app refresh and location services off for most things that are unnecessary, auto lock is on after 2 mins... and it was a fresh install as well 🤷‍♀️

The one thing that I did just read is this - disabling my Lock Screen widgets now

The CNET article says to turn off keyboard haptic feedback to preserve battery as well

I don’t think I legitimately get any use out of Lock Screen widgets that I don’t get from notifications. But keyboard haptics… gonna leave that one on

I used a very standard static wallpaper with no effects, no widgets and also have turned off AOD. Still the Home & Lockscreen battery drain is crazy…

Mmmh so it must be some kind of software glitch happening only in some cases

Same for me. Widgets on Lockscreen are weather, calendar , sunset/sunrise times. On Homescreen weather and photos

Mine shows home and lock screens as the biggest battery user only if charged and on standby which makes tons of sense

Yup, Home & Lock Screen increased battery usage but only while on phone call which also caused phone getting really, really warm.

AOD off. No widgets.
