I'm doing some spring cleaning and I was wondering if there are any home organizer apps-- i.e. something like an inventory app where I can catalog my furniture, appliances, books, clothing, etc. Does anything like this exist?

I'd like to use photos as well. Should I just use iPhoto and a spreadsheet app? It would be nice to have everything in one place.

Thanks, those both look pretty good.

on edit: HomeInventory is definitely superior. Has an option to take photos from iSight, can customize practically everything, and has a "Collections" category for high numbers of similar items (i.e. DVDs or whatever). On the other hand, it's $15.

What You Own seems aimed at people filling out insurance claims. Bare bones, oriented towards dollar value, serial numbers, technical info. Makes sense for what it is.

Yeah, a pencil and a piece of paper would probably only run you about 15 cents. ;)

EverNote is free, wouldn't hurt to try.

Hmm, interesting! I had never used EverNote before. It's really easy to use. I'm not really sure how to organize the notes, though...have to do some experimenting.

So does everyone recommend Home Inventory? I saw it and Compartments are $9.99 on the Mac App Store right now. I have never used Evernote but from what I hear about it is that it isn't exactly meant for this.

Anyone find anything else? Getting married soon and getting a ton of gifts, want to make sure I know everything we have for insurance purposes.
