So I added an icon on my home page for a free web app. When I open Safari, pressing its icon on the home page, the added icon's web page opens up. Shouldn't I have been sent to either my Google (or Yahoo!) search engine page? If this is how adding icons works, I could have just as easily made bookmarks in Safari instead.

No, from what I seen it goes to the last page you visited. The google or yahoo can be your default search engine.

I understand google or yahoo is my default search engine in safari. When I open up safari this is what is should default to but it isn't if I open up a free app first. If I do that then safari will go to that app's web site.

This is what I am talking about http://forums.ilounge.com/showthread.php?t=218808
