Home screen or list?

So I saw some YouTube videos about watchOS 6, and I notice when some press the Digital Crown they were taken to a “list of apps” view instead of the traditional home screen.
Is there a setting for this?

Press the Digital Crown to shown the list/grid of apps. Then hard press on the screen and that will open the view options...

it's not just os 6, it's been available for a while (maybe since the beginning)

don't know why it's not mentioned more prominently, the "app cloud" is not very friendly at all.
every friend i've shown, has changed to list.
