Just finished my iOS 4.3 download and I was excited about home sharing. Man its so llllllaaaaaammmmmmeeeee. I thought I could stream the iTunes radio to my iPhone but no. I have access to all the songs I have on both the iPhone and iTunes. So whYs the point?

You thought wrong.
 
It's to be able to listen to/watch music and videos in iTunes that aren't on your iOS device.

Say you've got a 8gb iPod touch that's filled with music and apps but you want to play a 2nd movie on it to shut your 4 year old nephew up.

Now that you can do hdmi out from iOS devices, it's going to be another way of streaming to a tv.
 
Home sharing works for songs on iTunes - for radio and other stuff I use the wifi2hifi app
