Home Sharing:Unequal totals with Mac iTunes and PC iTunes

My Mac iTunes is my main library; I use Home Sharing between my PC laptop and my wife's PC and neither of them have the same number of songs (much lower) than that of my Mac iTunes library. I've looked at some of the posts re: Home Sharing problems but haven't seen any address this issue. Yes, both PCs can share with my Mac but the library levels aren't the same. Many times, the titles show up on the PCs but when I try to play them, the actual tune isn't on the PC.
Any thoughts or fixes?
