Home sharing

Just downloaded ios 4.3, anyone figured out how to use the home sharing feature. Already created my apple id on itunes and on the phone. Now what?

You have to turn it on in iTunes. iTunes > Preferences > Sharing > Share my library on my local network

Then go to the iPod app > More > Shared.

Got the Home Sharing working at home with wifi, this is fantastic.

Maybe a silly question but will home sharing work on 3G when away from home?

Nope...it's using your wifi network.

But that would be quite a nice feature for a new Mobile Me

Go into Settings and then the iPod app and type in your email address and password.

Then go directly into the iPod app and click on more and then Shared.

Sadly only works with your wifi connection and itunes has to be open on your computer. You quit itunes on your computer, the sharing doesn't work.

I would really love to see Apple bridge the gap and allow home sharing access via 3G and MobileMe...This could be a great alternative to the cloud.

Either way, I would think this would eat up bandwidth easily...Damn.

As much i like this feature, eh, its kinda useless given the fact that my mbp and iphone have to be on the same network, (the way i understood it anyway.) kinda wondering why i even upgraded.

I'm having this issue too. I turned it on in iTunes, you can see Home Sharing in sidebar until I click the done button. Then it disappears.

I also entered my login details in settings on the iPhone, but still no Shared option in the iPod app.
