remember the rumors of the portable accounts with Ipods? well, i noticed that in the Menu extras folder, there is a menu called homesync, when you use the menu, you can select to sync home, or go to home sync preferences. when you go to home sync preferences, it takes you to the user account settings, and if you try to sync it says,

To create a mobile account and a portable home, open System Preferences and click Accounts. Then click Create mobile account and click Configure. If these items are disabled, see your system administrator.

i have 10.4.8, is this news or has this been known for a long time? could this be a new feature in leopard that got leaked to the 10.4.8 update?

Home Sync is for the Active Directory plug-in. It syncs a local home directory with the user's specified home folder in their AD profile.

Unless something has changed, this has existed in Tiger since day one, and has nothing to do with iPods.
