As you must know, there are several home architecture software packages (of admittedly questionable quality) for Windows. But, as far as I can tell, there's not even one for OS X. One could use OmniGraffle, but it's not the same, and it doesn't show measurements. One, too, could use one of the high-end CAD packages, but I am not a professional architect, and all I really want to do is map out plans for my house. A pro program is really unnecessarily complex and expensive for my needs. Back in the day, there was the Design Your Own Home suite for Classic (basically MacDraw with aspirations, but it did the trick, more or less). But now? Nuthin'.

Am I right about that? I'd love not to be.

It would be great if we could have a program that had features as some of these Windows programs claim, where you can actually estimate out all the materials you'll need and do a 3-D walkthrough and all that jazz. It'd be even better if it all actually WORKED as advertised (as I suspect the Windows programs do not). But for now, I'd settle for SOMETHING over NOTHING.

Thanks!

Sam
