Anybody elses suck? its been inconsistent but not only that but sometimes I have to jam it down.

Dont know if it's just me
 
Mine is very clicky. It makes a loud click and has some solid action on it. Very nice compared to the 4S which was a little more mushy.
 
Mine was recessed and not 100% even out of box. (Top was even more recessed) I Was at apple store buying cable and happened to mention it to genius and he asked to see it and swapped it out on the spot. He said they are looking for defects like this. My new one is perfect I suggest you do same if your apple store has stock
 
Mine feels great. Much better than my 4 that I had to sometimes press numerous times for it to work.
