I have 4 computers total - 2 dell towers both win 7 home premium and a laptop with win 7 home premium plus my imac that has parallels running windows 7 professional.
I created a homegroup on dell tower 1 (my primary pc), joined on dell 2 tower and laptop as well as imac great right!?
Well seems whatever computer I am at I can see and access files back and forth zero problems except when i try to access the imac/windows 7 machine from any of the other 3 I get a message saying I have to log in user name password type thing I even tried every password and user name I can think of none worked.
I read if you are having this issue to go into control panel/network/advanced and turn off password protection, i did this on all 4 of the machines even did restarts and reset my modem but still same situation all can share and see including the imac to other machines but none can access the imac/win 7 machine without that prompt of user name and password coming up.
I also tried in the parallels menus to set to network 1 / bridged / default but still not fixing it.
When I look at the network tab of control panel on each it shows the imac connected to local area connection 2, the others just say local area connection (no number).
Just kinda stumped as to what to check or do or what exactly is the problem the only one not playing nice here is the mac/win 7 machine and I am pretty sure it's probably something to do with parallels but I just can't figure it out so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I am going bananas here trying to figure it out.
