Hi folks,

I've recently purchased a new house and the garden has a raised decking with small circular LED lights built into the steps. They don't change colour and can't be connected to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Are there any weather-proof alternatives that are Homekit compatible either natively or via Hoobs etc.?

Thanks!

you should be able to add an inline relay such that you can turn them on and off via homekit. i would recommend a Shelly device in a waterproof housing.

if you want them to fit in the same mounting holes or fixtures youll need to provide more information.

I’d love decking lights that I could change the colour of using the Home app, similar to the Hue lights I’ve got indoors.

The current lights measure 22mm. Bland white.

eesh yah those are pretty wimpy!

having a hard time finding something that is specifically designed for surface mounting application, but if you really want colored lights i wouldn't bother looking for a direct retrofit and start eyeing solutions you might need to mount in another way or with larger diameter holes.

im a big fan of WLED. so you could DIY this if you bought some good quality RGB string lights and a nice WLED controller. this would vastly open up what kind of LEDs you could use and then you could get homebridge / home assistant integration into homekit with some really cool effects you dont find on other solutions.

I would suggest a wired ESP32 controller like this:

or this (LAN model):
