Hi Everyone,

I'm constructing a built-in shelving unit that I would like to illuminate with HomeKit controllable RGB/White LED light strips. There are certainly a number of options on the market. However, none of them appear to be as customizable as more traditional non-HomeKit LED strips. For example, standard LED strips can be cut to custom lengths, attached to cords of custom lengths, routed to one (or a few) transformers, and controlled with a single switch. I'm looking for a similarly customizable solution that allows for brightness/color control from iOS and/or MacOS. The shelving will be a combination of barrister bookcases mounted side-by-side, at varying heights, so just buying a few long strips doesn't seem to be an ideal solution, but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

If you use Hue lightstrips you can cut them to length. Litecessory sell a few items on Amazon to allow you to extend the cord, split the run or connect offcuts. The colour controller is in the power brick though so if you do split it, you won’t be able to control the branches independently.
