Hello,
First time poster, long time reader here. I've recently dived into the world of HomeKit setup with about 15 Lutron Caseta light switches and Smart Hub Pro, as well as Homebridge for Nest, Harmony Hub, and UPS integration, and a few other odds and ends, all of which have worked fairly well so far.

Apple TV 4K as hub, iPhone X's and an iPad Air 2 as client devices, all updated to current iOS/TVOS as of tonight 11.2.6.

What I'm really having difficulty with is with 3x newly added Weiser/Kwikset Premis locks - namely, the new rules Apple has introduced surrounding automations for security devices... Everything works fine when used manually. Automations to lock or unlock based on a person's proximity to home show prompt on phone, and work if actioned there - but that's terrible, and defeats the purpose of automation.

I've read a fair bit about these new security constraints, and understood that it would be possible to set a rule to lock or unlock based on a switch or sensor state - and to trigger that switch/sensor state with another rule. All good in theory, but with current versions, it does not seem to work. Tried with Homebridge dummy switches, dummy motion sensor, real Lutron Caseta switch.... Stripped down to just an automation to lock or unlock a door based on switch state, it does not work - no prompt, nothing, when switch state changes. When testing automation, it works fine. If I set another automation based on same switch state, like turning lights on, that works fine.

This is very irksome - especially as I have a Honeywell Lyric security system on order and planned for simplified entry/arm/disarm based on rules.....I understand Apple's concerns, but I'd like to be able to decide my tolerance for security on arming/disarming or locking/unlocking devices I own, on my own home.

Any thoughts on where else to go with this, or any other known workarounds?

Thanks,
Colin

Is there any IFTTT integration with these devices? I use that for my alarm, in conjunction with Life360 I have a rule to arm when last person leaves and disarm when the first person arrives.

Another solution is to use Node Red (I have that running on a Raspberry Pi. I see you have Homebridge, is that running off a Pi? I have Node Red running on a different Pi, so I can run different NPM and Node versions.

Hope this helps
