HomeKit HomeKit Matter update - 3rd Party Accessoires

I am currently using HomeKit with iPad Air (4th gen.) as Home Base. Smart accessories: Hue bulbs connected via hue bridge.

two questions concerning the new homekit architecture (matter) update:
1. Will the iPad support the update or is a HomePod or an Apple TV 4k required?
2. Will the hue bridge expose 3rd party bulbs (for example tradfri) to HomeKit?
