HomeKit HomeKit When Anyone Arrives Home Not Working

So I am trying to get HomeKit working with my new ecobee 5. I setup 2 automations. One to set it “Away” when everyone leaves and one to set it to “Resume” when anyone arrives home. The away automation works every time when my wife and I both leave. However, the resume automation will not work, even when both of us come home. I’ve tried deleting the automation and remaking it but it still doesn’t work. The test automation works fine. Any ideas? It seems strange that one works and the other doesn’t.
