I've noticed that there are a few concepts online of the rumoured Smart Home Hub but unfortunately they don't align with the rumours. I thought I would share what I think is a realistic design of a 6" square display with a hemispherical speaker base. I apologise for the low resolution images.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

Edit: photo next to my iPhone Pro added for size comparison.

I can see that being very close to the real HomePad...interesting aspect ratio; I figure they would use the iPad's ratio. We'll see!

I would prefer that Apple make "home base" units. Some will come with a screen similar to what you show and others a dock of sorts for iPads. Pity that a magnetic attachment of an iPad that would charge the iPad is not yet around. A quick charge option would make these home base units more desirable.

It’s likely to be more rectangular but I think the square aspect ratio is to influence people’s behaviour and temper their expectations as to how the device should be used. It won’t be suitable for video and not ideal for browsing the internet.
