homepage bookmarks don't open IP4

Bookmarks/webpages I've added as icons to my homepage won't open on my iPhone4. Both old (synced) ones from my 3G and newly added ones just don't open. When I tap on the icon they indicate they've been pressed briefly but then nothing happens. I can still open webpages from my bookmarks menu.

Help?! Please tell me its something simple or stupid. I tried switching off/on the phone.
 
well I'll be damned

All I did was move the bookmark icon to a different page (an open slot on my first page) and now they've ALL started working. Frustrating & bizarre, but I'm relieved. Don't get it though.
